MORE ABOUT ME
Struggling to grow your business during nap times, school lines, seeking balance? Been there, ready to guide you from survival to success!
Imagine that you just met an amazing new friend. You had a lot in common and had a great time chatting. You exchange numbers with the promise to hang out soon….and then she ghosts you! ?
Not great, right?!?!
That’s exactly how your email subscribers feel when they sign up for your lead magnet and then are left hanging with no follow up email conversation.
So how can you ensure that your new friends feel welcome and excited about your new relationship?
A welcome series is a set of automated emails that new subscribers receive after opt-ing in to your email list. It’s a great way to welcome them to your email list and let them know what they can expect from you.
So what should these emails say?
Here is a breakdown of the 5 welcome emails I send to all my new subscribers that you can steal and use for your own welcome series.
It is always a good idea to deliver your lead magnet in the first email of a welcome series…even if you offer a direct link after they opt-in. Not only does this ensure the your new subscriber gets what they were promised, but they will be looking for your email in their inbox making it less likely to end up in SPAM.
Most of the time your new leads will home some idea of who you are, but not always. For this reason I like to make my second email in the welcome series an ‘About Me’ email. But it’s not all YOU in this email, it’s about how setting yourself up as the expert in your niche and sharing how you can help you audience.
Now that your new subscriber has their lead magnet, and knows a little more about who you are, it’s time to put your money where your mouth is and share something that can help them get a quick win. Not only will this solidify your status as ‘expert’, but it will show your audience that you aren’t going to be selling to them all the time…you are here to offer value.
At this point in the welcome series I want to remind my audience that they are not just another name is a mass email. So I sent them a short and sweet email asking them if they received my last emails and if there is anything I can help them with.
The last email in my welcome series is a “what to expect next” email where I let them know how often they can expect to hear from me, and what type of emails I will be sharing. I also like to remind them that they can reply to my emails at anytime with questions or thoughts.
Once I have my emails typed up, I create a Workflow inside my email platform FLODESK that triggers the welcome series as soon as someone joins my list.
For just a little bit of effort up front, you can have your welcome series automated and running without you having to give it another thought.
